A Russian courtroom has sentenced US basketball star Brittney Griner to nine years in penal advanced after convicting her of smuggling and possessing narcotics.
As Griner, 31, used to be being led out of the courtroom in handcuffs, she used to be heard pronouncing: “I in any case esteem my family.”
The double Olympic winner has admitted possessing cannabis oil, but educated the courtroom she had made an “exact mistake”.
